Alumni Association
A WELCOME MESSAGE
January 2012
Greetings,
This year is an important year in the history of the Tyler Architecture here at Temple University. We have moved into the new Architecture Building! With the building sited across 13th Street from Annenberg Hall, home of the School of Communications and Theater, next to Boyer College of Music and Dance, and connected with the rest of Tyler School of Art, we are enjoying the role it serves as a keystone within the Temple Arts Campus on the northern end of Main campus.
Designed by H2L2, the successor firm of Paul Philippe Cret, it completes a circle from our first home in the Cret-designed Stauffer Hall, through the Engineering Building where many of you still site your memories of architecture school days. The new home and the wonderful sign that just says ARCHITECTURE give us a much needed identity within the Temple Campus.
The building has doubled our space. It houses six studios for the B Arch, BS Arch and M Arch degree programs, learning labs for degree programs in Facility Management and Architectural Preservation, seminar rooms, a digital lab, woodshop, and digital fabrication labs with new state of the art equipment for teaching and learning.
We hope you will come and visit, and hope especially to see you for Architecture Week, April 2-6 2012 which will serve as both inauguration and alumni reunion – a schedule of events is on myowlspace.com
While preparing for the inauguration over the past year, we’ve had the great pleasure to find out about many of you – your career paths are most intriguing and the work you do is really impressive. We would love to know more about your lives and achievements. Please post by logging in to your account on myowlspace.com , your own personal link to Temple – we check in frequently to gather information so we can tell the world about the achievements of those who graduated from our Tyler Architecture. This new Architecture Alumni website will also feature information about you – the more reason to share your accomplishment!
We look forward to seeing you –
