The Woodshop is a facility that enables and assists in the construction of small and large–scale items through the experimentation of methods and materials. Monitors and the shop manager are available to help guide the student through both the conceptual and technical processes. Monitors have a broad range of experience in design, materials and construction. Their aim is to encourage and support individual students’ projects while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

The shop is well equipped with machine and hand tools for working in hardwoods, softwoods and engineered products including a SawStop safety table saw, small-scale table saws, chop saws, drill presses, band saws, finishing and hand tools.  Hand tools and portable power tools may be borrowed when available but are not allowed in the studios. Shop facilities may be used by all students and members of staff. All new students are required to attend a short course on safe working practices at the beginning of the semester.

Hours and Location
The shop is located on the first floor of the Architecture Building in room 110. Hours of operation are posted on the wall outside the shop entrance doors.
